The number one thing that has brought me true freedom, is detaching all negative self-talk from feelings that get triggered inside me, as a regular practice.
Two years ago, my heart spoke that it longed for one thing ~
Freedom.
Back then, I had a very materialistic idea of freedom.
Money to spare, a fulfilling job, the freedom to go and do whatever I liked.
But now I see that true freedom is an inside job.
Breaking the egoic bond between feelings and mind is remarkably simple in essence.
It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen…
If you keep practicing and deepening your relationship with trust, love, and self-compassion.
The physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and energetic freedom I feel now that I’ve learned this is akin to rapture.
But not believing our negative self-talk is a great first step, but it is just that – a good first step.
It’s one thing to logically tell ourselves that we’re not stupid, bad, ugly, unloveable…
But what if the body still has this belief locked away in it?
No amount of mantras or discarding painful thoughts will work at this stage, if you’re entire system still actually believes the painful things.
This is where emotional processing comes in.
We must go into the feeling that springs up in our body when we think certain thoughts.
We have to go in and disarm these recurring emotional reactions. We speak to the feeling, find out what it needs, and give it that thing.
The result of this is an unlocking of the charged emotion. A breaking of the triggered reactive loop between thought & feeling.
Most of us are so used to running away from these feelings and not feeling them, that we don’t even realise we’re doing it.
But it’s in the leaning in to what we don’t want to see, that we free ourselves for good.
In earnest love,
