Looking back over and feeling into the trajectory of someone’s life it becomes pretty clear what their dharma is in this lifetime. This notion that one’s struggles can be summed up in a sentence or two can feel overwhelming and awfully underwhelming, like we’re just a drop in the ocean so ‘who cares, right?’ To that I say – indeed a drop, a grain of sand, a speck in the fabric of all time and space. But, that’s not to say that we are inconsequential, no no no. It is simply to say that we are a part of the whole. Like a note in a symphony, or a piece in a grand puzzle.
My dharma, from my own ‘forest for the trees’ perspective, is all about Trust. What is trust? When I trust, I love myself. When I trust, I accept my actions without judgment. When I trust, I accept others and stop judging them too. When I trust, I relax. When I trust, life becomes easier.
Often our need for control is quite subconscious to us. And believe it or not, we do not need to control every outcome 😱 I know right. ORRR, every day, every week, every month, every year, or everyone else’s lives even. Chances are that if you’re reading this, you subconsciously hold a need for control. This control would bring you a sense of safety, containment, security… but, at the cost of your nervous system and to the chagrin of others.
I want to remind you that it is possible to let go. It could start by slowly letting your hands slip off the side of the cliff until it’s just your finger tips hanging on… then one by one your fingers come away. And in your darkest hour you welcome certain death as your insides swirl and purge and bust open. You wake up the next day, and… you’re different. You’ve gone from a level 8/10 uptight (or worse), to a totally manageable 3/10. Things are just… easier.
The irony is that you actually still have control, but not control born out of fear, lack, or scarcity, but summoned from a place of peace, trust, surrender, compassion, and love. You can do this – peace is available to us all!
Big love, warriors.
Your Mama, Mother Nemaya
